The (SHP) is a research and outreach program of the Mainstay Foundation centered on surveying the center leadership within the national network of Shi’a American centers and organizations across the continental United States. The objective of the project is to build an understanding of the history and development of the Shi’a American community through its institutions and leadership. In 2021, a series of interviews with leaders of these diverse centers and institutions will be the core information mechanism utilized to inform this study that aims at delivering the mentioned products below. In 2022, the interview process will continue by way of individuals outside of the institutions providing further insight into the history and development of the Shi’a American community.1 Below is an outline and categorization of the outputs of this research study. A separate document is available detailing the interviewing process as well as other relevant research methodology.
