Husayn Service Day
THINK HUMANITY – A Day of Service… A Lifetime of Reward
Saturday, August 24 – Arbaeen Weekend
On Husayn Service Day, the greater Shia community, spanning all ages, will unite to serve in honor of Imam Husayn (a) in partnership with The Mainstay Foundation. We invite you to join this movement to uplift humanity in the name of Husayn (a). Volunteering will take place at food banks, homeless shelters, soup kitchens, schools, local parks, cemeteries, churches, mosques, and numerous other locations.
Held annually, this event inspires Shia communities across the United States to give back through various service projects. It allows both the young and old to express their dedication to Imam Husayn (a) and the AhlulBayt (a). By coming together in service, we uplift humanity and spread the love and honor of Imam Husayn (a).
Husayn Service Day is an all-day event on Saturday, August 24, during the 2024 Arbaeen weekend. We encourage all Shia organizations and mosques to join us in this meaningful movement.
Volunteers will serve at:
- Free medical check-ups at local mosques, centers, or city halls
- Soup kitchen restoration, including painting and cleaning
- Free haircuts for seniors at local senior living apartments
- Community food distribution at city centers or food banks
- Park clean-up in partnership with city government
- Cleaning graves at cemeteries
- Beautifying local government building landscapes
- Organizing blood drives
- Setting up mobile health clinics
- Providing essential health packs
- Creating neighborhood vegetable gardens
- Restoring local basketball courts (painting/clean-up)
- Assisting seniors or disabled community members with grocery shopping (organize sign-ups at city halls, mosques, or churches)
Join us and make a difference in your community in honor of Imam Husayn (a).
