This course will help engage in practical topics of discussion in our theology.
This course will allow participants to engage in discussions about the basic beliefs of Shia Muslims. The course will cover major topics from the need for having a belief system, to the centrality of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (s), to our worldview, to the Immaculate Imams of Ahl al-Bayt, and their position within our belief system.
The first and most central concept in our belief system is tawḥīd; our belief in God Almighty’s oneness, justice, and other attributes. Our relationship with God should be based on our understanding of His sublime attributes. Knowing His wisdom, grace, and mercy, we can begin to understand His assignment of prophets and messengers for the guidance of His creatures – chief amongst whom is the Noble Prophet Muhammad (s). But what role do the Prophet (s) and Imams (a) play in our daily lives? What do they mean for our salvation in the hereafter? How do we prepare for the public appearance of our Living Imam (a)?
Reading material: Creed: God and His Ambassadors, by Sayyid Ali al-Hakeem.
Anyone who is interested in learning more about their faith in a way that can practically impact their lives, should attend this session. It will help them reflect on different aspects of our belief system and how they relate to their day-to-day lives.
This session is best suited to individuals ages 18+.
